SENIOR THESIS - 2018
I create larger-than-life portraits of faces lit in differently colored light, and in selected areas use abstracted shapes filled with pattern. My work emphasizes the idea that people exist as different interpretations to those around them, and that they can be seen “in a different light” by different people. This work takes metaphorical light literally, with the use of different colored lights to aid in the perception of emotion and personality in the subject. Each piece represents an interpretation of the individuals personality as I see it, and contain essential aspects of them that can be physically seen, as well as interpretative elements, such as light and pattern.
